Practical app marketing, from real product proof to reviewed content.

Measure Content Interest and App Acquisition Separately

Track content metrics and link clicks without inventing attribution. Use store or app evidence to understand downloads, trials and paying users.

A view, a click and an install are different events

Use content metrics to understand attention. Use tracked links to observe interest. Downloads, activation, trials and payments need evidence from store reporting or your own app. Missing data is unavailable, not zero.

A profile link can identify an account or campaign. If several posts direct people to the same link, it usually cannot prove which post caused a later install. Do not turn a campaign click count into a per-post payer claim.

Apple provides campaign links and aggregated acquisition reporting. Android offers an Install Referrer API for apps that implement it. Reporting, privacy limits and the observed path determine the attribution you can support.

Compare fairly before repeating a story

Compare within the same account and format at similar ages after publication. A post measured after an hour should not compete directly with one measured after a month. Display the comparison size and treat small baselines as early signals.

Keep a simple record for the reporting period: published posts, observed views, tracked clicks, store-reported downloads, app-reported activation or trials, and verified payments. Record the source and whether it identifies the campaign. Organic follow-ups help you learn; they are not randomized experiments.
